Hi followers! So I don’t show my face around here, much, because I’m a bit bashful about my privacy… but this is really important to me.
In the video above, I’m the girl singing on the left. To the right are my band mates Ahren and Thom (Marcus, the drummer, wasn’t there that week). We’re called Cole Cash, and we came into being about a year ago. There are few things that I love more than being in this band and performing with them. People’s reactions after our shows make me want to cry with happiness! Hopefully you like us, too, now; this is one of my favourite covers.
Anyhow, I’m writing this post because we’ve just started a fundraising campaign in order to pay for mixing, mastering, and manufacturing of the album we’ve been working on for the past couple of months. It’s going to cost around $4000 (seriously, when I read that I just see $$$$$$$), which is quite a bit, but we’re confident that we can raise it with help from our fans, which might be you after listening to the video!
THIS IS NOT A NORMAL FUNDRAISER, THOUGH. You do not just give and get nothing back. Basically, you are pre-ordering the album (and other fantastical goodies if you donate more). So, for example, if you donate $10, you have basically just paid for you copy of the album, and we will send it to you when the first shipment comes in. There are other levels of donation with equally awesome prizes which you can see in the right sidebar of the donation page.
What I’m asking you to do, if you want of course, is to help me out with this (reblogging would be especially nice!). Even though we’ve enjoyed endless support from our friends over the past year, I haven’t enjoyed any support from my family. I’m seventeen, so somehow, in parent-speak, this translates to you-and-your-band-are-a-pointless-joke. When I showed them this page, they laughed in my face! It’s probably crazy, but a part of me hopes that if we’re successful in dropping this album, they might take this a bit more seriously (even though we don’t take ourselves very seriously, haha!).
Regardless of my parents, though, I hope you donate just because you enjoy our music. If you’re not convinced, though, you can visit our YouTube page, where we have a Song of the Weeks series and ton of live footage you can enjoy. We’re also on Facebook, so even if you can’t donate, we’d appreciate a like!
